Looking for the perfect stocking stuffer?

Novkittens2013

We currently have 15 kittens looking for loving homes here at Advanced Animal Care of Mt. Pleasant. They were all found outside in the harsh cold, and brought to us by compassionate people who wanted to help them. We are truly grateful to them for rescuing these kittens. Now that they are in our care, they have been vaccinated, spayed/neutered, dewormed, and are all thriving. We are currently working on socializing them, and making them comfortable with human contact. Please contact us if you or someone you know is interested in adoption @ 843-884-9838. You can find more pictures of the kittens at the following links:

Gizmo & Archie: Nice Cats Finish Last

archiegizmoblog Gizmo, a 5 year old, domestic cat is on the search again for a loving home. Although things did not work out with his previous family, we have no doubt that he will be a wonderful addition to any home. This laid back cat is up-to-date on all vaccinations, neutered, and currently on flea & heartworm preventative. The reason he was returned has nothing to do with his personality or behavior, it was simply a matter of not being a “good fit” for this particular family.
Archie is in the same situation. He was originally returned, because his previous owner (for many years) moved out of the country and could no longer care for him. He, too, is neutered and vaccinated, but he doesn’t do well in a household with other cats. He was adopted by a single woman, who did not know much about cats, and couldn’t handle his “meowing” in the mornings. Clearly, this person has no previous experience with a cat or else she would know that this is quite normal behavior. Placing a small bowl of food out for him in the mornings would probably have remedied the situation. Alas, she opted to give him back to us, which we encourage all our adoption parents to do if things are not working out.
As many people know, the adult cats are always the hardest ones to place for adoption. So many who are looking to own a pet seem to be drawn to the small, cute, cuddly kittens and understandably so. Over the past couple of months we have noticed these two growing more and more depressed. They are both the type of cats who WANT and NEED a loving place to call home. They are both extremely affectionate, and although we give them as much love and attention as we can, it simply does not compare to the constant warmth and kindness they could have if they were taken into someone’s family. Please share their story with your friends and family. Please contact Advanced Animal Care of Mt. Pleasant for more details on our adoption process. **UPDATE 10/15/13- Gizmo has been adopted, but Archie is still looking for his forever home!!

A Home for Archie

ARCHIEFB2Over the past couple of months we have noticed Archie growing more and more depressed here at the hospital. He is not the type of cat who thrives in an environment like this, because he is the type of cat who wants to belong to someone. He wants a warm lap to call his own, and a house full of love and kindness. Although we are providing as much love and attention as possible, it is clear that he is counting his days until that special someone comes in and decides he is the addition to their family they’ve been looking for. Please call Advanced Animal Care of Mt. Pleasant if you or anyone you know is interested in adopting this sweet boy. 843.884.9838http://www.facebook.com/aacmp
